PRODUCT MANAGER

CURTIS BLUNDEN

12 MARCH 2026

1.

I am a Senior Product Manager with seven years of experience across enterprise SaaS, fintech, and healthcare technology. I have worked at Suncorp, VALD, and RPS Group, building products in environments where the constraints are real and the stakes are commercial.

2.

My background is unusual for a PM. I started as a bank teller at Suncorp in 2015 and spent three years in frontline and digital roles before moving into product. That foundation gave me a working understanding of financial services from the ground up, which has shaped how I think about regulated product delivery ever since.

3.

I lead from the front. I do not sit behind a backlog and hand work down. I am in the detail, working alongside the team, unblocking what needs unblocking and making the calls that need to be made. My job is to make the people around me faster, not to be the bottleneck they report to.

4.

When it comes to prioritisation I use a simple lens. What is revenue-critical, what is compliance or security-critical, and everything else. Most prioritisation debates dissolve when you apply that filter honestly.

5.

Good stakeholder management is not about managing people. It is about being so transparent and so consistent that there are no surprises. I run frequent short touchpoints rather than infrequent big ones. People who know what is happening do not need to chase for updates.

6.

What sets the best PMs apart is not process knowledge or framework fluency. It is the obsession. The refusal to accept that a product is good enough when you can see how much better it could be. The willingness to fight for the customer in rooms where commercial pressure is pointing the other way.

7.

Outside of work I am a husband and a father. I build web applications in my spare time, do escape rooms, play guitar, and drink more coffee than is probably reasonably. I take the lawn seriously. I watch a lot of comedy TV.

8.

I believe deeply in the legacy of the work. Products outlast the people who build them. The decisions you make about what to cut and what to keep compound long after you have moved on. I take that seriously.

9.

I am currently open to product roles across financial services, fintech, and large organisations where the problems are genuinely complex. If you are working on something hard and need someone who has done it before, I am worth talking to.
